I have a Mac Mini M1, and while I love to use Photoshop Elements for organization, it obviously doesn't work well -- it is so slow as to be unuseable.
My question is, is there a "beta" program that I can try out to test M1 versions, or, barring that, what is the timeline to remediate this?
Will Photoshop 2022 be M1-friendly? If so, when does that come out?
I've used Photoshop Elements for many, many years... sad that it's become unuseable to me.

There are beta programs, but beta testers have to sign a non disclosure agreement- you just can't "sign up for a beta version", and start using it.
Disregard ALL information about PSE 2022 unless you get it from Adobe.
Zero info has been released about PSE 2022.
I have predicted the release date of pse 2022 will be on OCT 26th- the date of a big online adobe conference.
It could be released this weekend.
It's all rumor at this point.

Have you downloaded your PSE from Apple AppStore or from the Adobe site?
It looks like the current version doesn't support the M1 chip:
