Mac OS Sierra & Photoshop Elements 10

New Here ,
Aug 18, 2017 Aug 18, 2017

So... i've just purchased a swanky new MacBook Pro. I was using Photoshop Elements 10 on My 2012 MacBook Pro also running Sierra, it work ok but i put some glitches down to the machine being 5 years old.
I now have an unstable version of Elements 10 & really need it not to be... is there anything i can do to resolve it that doesn't cost a bomb?

The application crashes, regularly, when I does open the windows are pixelated. The icon to pse10 doesn't appear just a default apple icon.

When I try to open some images & files that I used on my old machine, I'm told that they can't be opened/edited.

Overall it's really unstable & incredibly frustrating when I'm trying to work.

Just as a test, try downloading and installing the current version PSE 15. See if that version runs any better on Sierra.

There will be no more updates for Elements 10. It is very old software so, unfortunately, what you see is what you get now.

It will be helpful to establish if version 15 runs any better than version 10.

PSE15 works fine, I just begrudge paying for the newest version when I have a version that worked fine until I upgraded my machine

We have just upgraded our Apple MacBook and iMac to Mac OS High Sierra and now I'm having problems with using PSE10! I'm not really happy at the idea of forking out £99 as I originally bought ES10 to help restore our old family photos and not to use as a profession! £99 is way too expensive!

Try trashing the saved prefs while launching the Editor. Hold down the three keys CtrL+Alt+Shift and keep them depressed while right-clicking on the Editor desktop icon and choosing “Open” – or clicking on the Editor from the welcome screen. Release the three keys after two seconds and when you see the prefs dialog click “Yes” to delete the settings.
