Missing Catalogs Elements 15

New Here ,
Jun 21, 2018 Jun 21, 2018

I had my PC repaired Windows 10, and they did a new install of Windows 10, so I had to reinstall My Adobe Photoshop Elements 15, I lost all my Catalogs (4), I have the Pictures, but all my People Tags are missing along with the Captions. Would anyone know how I can get them back, or Locate the files?

Thanks,

Jerry

The big question is how was the Windows 10 update performed? If your drive was formatted, there is nothing to recover.

If it's only an update, the catalog folders are still in their original location.

By default, catalogs are stored in a hidden location on your C: drive. You can find that location for the current empty new catalog from the menu Help >> System information. That default location is hidden, you'll have to set the Explorer to display 'hidden' files and folders. You'll find other catalogs in the same location.

For catalogs in 'custom' location, they can be anywhere. You find them by searching in the explorer for files named 'catalog.pse15db'. Those database files are in a catalog folder. For catalogs from older version, change the '15' part, PSE2018 would be 'catalog.pse16db'.
