I cannot add any more photos to PE because my C Drive is full. How does one export photo albums to a external drive?

Hi @FredDWG

You'll need two external drives.

One for storing your photos, the other one for your backups.

For full safety, start with a full backup.

Then, you have a choice. Either use the organizer with the left folder panel in "tree" mode to drag and drop the master folder(s) of your photos directly to a master folder of your choice under the root of the destination external drive.

Or, stil safer, use the process to "move your catalog" to a new computer or drive.

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/backup-restore-move-catalog-photoshop.html

You have already made the first step, the full backup.

So, be sure to create your new master folder under the root of the external drive. That will be the 'custom' location for your restored backup. Contrary to the above drag and drop, the process does not 'move', it  'copies' the restored files while keeping the original files on your SSD. You'll find both your pictures folder trees (my advice: keep the option to keep the original structure) and your restored catalog folder under the new master folder. That way you can test and compare the original library and catalog with the restored one. When you are happy with the result, you can safely delete the original pictures and the catalog folder on the SSD.

In both solutions, keep the backup as usual.

It's your choice to store the catalog folder (with the database) in its default location on C: or to move it elsewhere.
