Naming photos in PSE2018

Is there a good tutorial on how to name images simply when saving them in PSE? In the almost three decades since I first started using Photoshop, I never have experienced anything like it.

I want to control how files are named, not the incredibly complex way PSE2018 does. I just edited almost 300 images from an event, and can't stand how the images are auto-named. PSE even adds -1 to originals. Of course, I can manually rename them when saving, but it takes too much time when going through hundreds of photos. Perhaps I over looked it but I can't find any settings to shut off this thing.
