In a multi-layer project when I add text, I like to get the best out of the text that I add. In a layer of text I use drop shadows and whatever works. During the project, I may decide I want to reposition the text. Yes, you've guessed with effects on the text I'm stuck and cannot move as it leaves shadows of the text.
My question is how do I flatten the text-only that I've worked on, so I can move it still keeping all my other layers intact?
Thank you.
Solved. All I had to do was link the text layers, this then enabled movement of the text across the image, and still leave all other layers as they were.

What OS and version of Elements are you using?
How are you creating the drop shadows? A normal text effect or style, e.g. Drop Shadow or Bevel, moves together with the text layer.
Can you please show us a screenshot of your layer panel with text that has a drop shadow or other style that has the problem you are trying to fix.
