Need help opening tiff files in PSE 2025

Just installed 2025 (was on 2023). I have prepared lots of digital scrapbook pages & saved them as TIFF files because you can see a photo preview but not on a PSE file. I tried to open a TIFF file & got an error message that Camera Raw has to be installed first (even if the document was not prepared in Camera Raw). I installed it & the document opened. I then tried to open a 2nd TIFF file & got the same message. Adobe said no it only has to be installed once. But I cannot open it. I went back to 2023 version & it also said I had to install Camera Raw (it never said that before). I went to Help in the Editor & chose Install Camera Raw. A screen opened saying it would install it in Organizer. I don't use Organizer but I said OK. Can't open it in 2023 either.

Can anyone help me?

I have never heard of ACR being required to open a tiff file. Can you post a screenshot of the message.

Can you also attach a copy of a problem file. (If it is a very large file, you may need to zip it in order to upload to this forum.)

In fact, as I think about it, is it possible that your file exceeds the maximum size for Elements?

Another member on my digital scrapbooking site had the same problem with opening tiff files. After automatic updates installed, the problem went away. I never got any updates because they happened between the time I purchased the software & installed it. Help says I have 2025, Adobe site says there have been 2 updates (1 this week) so the latest version is now 2025.2 but I never got updates. My "Updates" choice in Preferences is not clickable so I can't get them there. I have checked auto update. I was going to go back to my 2023 version to work on my file but it has now disappeared. Only the Organizer shows up & I didn't use that either. I am totally exhausted dealing with this.

I went to Adobe PSE 2025 & clicked on Contact. Of course I was offered the Chat with a real tech. I decided to try that. He told me the same things I have already done except answer my question: I have downloaded the .2 update, where would a notification be & how do I install it? He said “Beverly, please select the notify when update available, and if there is any update then you will see bell icon simply.” It was already checked but I never got a bell. He kept saying wait for it, wait for the bell. I finally went back to my Downloads & saw that this had just come in at 9:06 this morning.

I clicked on it & Installed it. This was 2025.2, I haven’t done .1 yet & don’t see where I can download it. But….I opened my PSE 2025 Editor & went to File Open: I picked several Tiff files, & they all opened right away!!!! So I am a happy camper now. There must have been a fix in that update. I didn't get the Install Camera Raw error message either. Now I have to find all the Actions & other things I had added to my 2024 so I can add them to 2025. Thank you for your help.
