NEF Raw Files from Nikon D7500 Won't Open in Photoshop Elements 13

With my new purchase of my Nikon D7500, i am unable to edit the raw NEF pictures in PSE.  I have updated and it shows that the most recent updates are installed but the version on my computer is still not current with the compatible version recommended for my camera.  How do I update to the most current plug in that will open and edit these files?

Any new camera is offered with its new and unique format that older raw editors can't read.

PSE13 can't be updated to the required ACR 9.12 module.

So, if you don't want to pay the upgrade to the current PSE2018 (or the soon to come PSE2019...) the free solution is to download the free Adobe DNGconverter mentioned in that faq.

This independent software (not a plugin) can batch convert a whole folder of your NEF files to the DNG raw format that your PSE13 can read and edit. An additional batch step, but free and with the same quality.

There is no risk in downloading now the free PSE2018 version, which will be fully working for 30 days.

If you decide to buy it after that time (within one month of PSE2019 availability), you may be entitled to a free upgrade to PSE2019 which is expected in the first part of October, if history repeats itself...

I have 2 versions of PSE including 2013 so should be able to upgrade to either.

Upgrade price (about -20%) is valid for any registered Elements version.

Free Upgrade may be granted for versions bought about one month before the release of the new version.
