new camera ........ so my elements 15 is now obsolete for ORF raw files?

Hi Guys,

I have upgraded one of my cameras so now the Raw files are not being supported.

The Adobe camera compatibility page which has just been updated today and it stats that I require Adobe camera Raw version 10 !! currently I have 9.1.2 I believe...

How and where do I find version 10 , is there an update due or does the new elements 2018 have this version?

Any advice would be gratefully received..... tried the DNG converter and it doesn't like me or my files??

Thank you very much in advance

Regards

Tone

Bad luck...

According to that new table (udpated today) your new, very new camera requires ACR 10.0.

Cameras supported by Camera Raw

Not available today, even in Elements 2018 nor with Adobe DNGconverter...

The DNGconverter should be available very soon, since ACR10 is now available with CC... Not sure how long it will take for Elements 2018 to follow.

FAQ: Will Photoshop Elements work with my camera, or Why won't my raw files open?

As you can see the link for the new Elements 2018 is not yet updated.

Camera Raw plug-in and Adobe application compatibility

Since PSE15 will not be updated, I guess you'll have to be a little patient and use the soon to come DNGconverter.

Tone,

It's always a problem when buying a new camera shooting raw. It takes necessarily some time for Adobe to analyze the format and produce a new version of the Camera Raw module. For instance, since today, Photoshop and Lightroom do have the required ACR 10.0 pluggin. The DNGconverter should be available very soon. For Elements 2018... well Elements has been lagging to update last year.

So, I would advise:

- shoot raw + jpeg (I guess your camera can do that)

- be patient and in the next days (I hope...) download the free DNGconverter as soon as it's available for version 10.0. That standalone software can batch convert a whole folder of your raw files to the DNG raw format that your Elements version can read and edit. Same quality, an additional batch process for free;

- Have a look at what Elements 2018 can offer. Maybe you can wait another year for Elements 2019?

The DNGconverter is available:

Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows

The list is out of order, the latest version 10 is on the fourth line...
