just installed a newly purchased version of Adobe Elements 2021 in an iMac. I have run Elements on a Windows PC for probably 8 years (version 11) but only the editor not the organizer. With the the Apple install I decided to also use the organizer. Following the install and loading all my photos I found the following and wonder it this is normal or an issue.
From the organizer, if it choose Edit from the main menu top menu or right click the thumb nail and choose edit with Editor I get the following in Editor;
JPG file- Could not complete your request because of a disk error.
Raw/NEF file- Could not complete your request because Photoshop Elements does not recognize this type of file.
Under Information in Organizer and clicking “Location” then right clicking on the file that comes up in Apple Finder (PC Explore like) and “Opening with Elements 2021 Editor” both JPG and RAW/NEF file open in the Editor and back in the Organizer the file will show “Locked Edit in Progress”. When the file is closed in the Editor the “Locked” indicator clears so it appears the applications are communicating at that point.
Once I pick a file, JPG or RAW, if I leave Elements completely the come back in, the file I previously read into Editor will now work from Organizer no matter how I choose to sent it to the Editor.
Is this normal?? I just need to figure out what my steps are going to be.
