No menus in Elements 15!

Hello all,

Ia m on W10 X64.

I recently decided to upfrade to PSE 15 from PSE 14 in order to be able to treat my new cameras files (Panasonic Tough TG-5 ORF)  which I understood could not with PSE 14.

So I installed PSE 15. All goes ok during the installation, no warning message whatsoever.

I open the organiser, it opens ok but the menus are not working! By not working, I mean when I click on them they do not open. To be precise, when i put the mouse over a menu it gets a white frame around it then when I left click on it the bottom of the white frame disappears but the menu does not appear. It is as though the menu appears but is hided by the rest of the window.

This is also the case for the Import menu but not for the medi/persons/places which you can click on. YOu can also select photos and double-clicking on them brings up the pic as usual.

I also noticed the right click on pictures does not work either. Only the left click to select photos works.

Do note there was not problem of this type with PSE 14.

I saw in the forums there were problems with menus due to Windows 10 update but this seemed to affect only older versions of PSE and one solution was to install PSE 15...

I have tried to reinstall several times already PSE15 and it is the same thing each time.

I launched an update of W10 there seems to be an 2017-07 update version 1703 KB4032188 to install but it is currently blocked I cannot install it the download is stopped at 2%

I checked in the Editor and the menus work there also with a slight lag I think.

Does anyone have another idea/solution?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Peru Bob,

Thank you for your quick reply.

Unfortunately that does not solve the problem. I was already at minimum 100% scaling.

And the menus work in the Editor.

BTW the 2017-07 update version 1703 KB4032188 is installed and changes nothing.

Hello ANwesha,

Just tried it and it is the correct answer. Menus work again when I turn off the auto-hide taskbar option.

Thanks a  lot!
