Possibly your text is the same color as your background color.  Try highlighting the text and re-choosing the text color in the Text Tool > Tool Options > Color picker.

Another option might be that your text has landed in the layers panel under another layer.  If this is the case, you can drag your text layer to the top of the layers panel.

Hi Amma,

My older versions of APE never gave me a problem like this. Typing and editing is quite an annoying challenge with this new version. My Windows update was disabled when it happened, so I enabled it and updated my Windows 10. However, nothing happened.

I have PSE 2021 and this does not happen to me - Have you tried "Reset Tool" or "Reset All Tools"  (located in the lower right corner of the screen - next to the little "?" there's a drop down icon - Make sure you are in the Text Tool if you only want to "reset" that tool)

I see in a post below that it has been reported to Adobe - Hopefully the techs will figure out what's going on and fix it in an update!

Nope. Two of Adobe's specialists remotely accessed my computer. It was scary, but I had to let them see the problem for themselves. Both can't fix the issue. They did everything they could, resetting, reinstalling, even creating an Administrator Windows login, deleting files, updating etc. They gave up. The last one told me that she was escalating my case to her senior management. I asked for another set (batch) of APE 2021 app & told them that I might have redownloaded the same defective software. They gave me another link, but the problem is still there. You're lucky to have no problems with yours. I installed my old version to use for now. Till now, I don't have any updates.

This is what happened. Image 1 shows the line before I started typing. Image 2 shows the line after I typed a word. The letters are not visible. As you can see, I use black text on a white background. Image 3 shows the text I typed only after I click the check mark. I never had a problem like this with my older APE versions. I'm using APE 2021 19.0.

@defaultpy6ewptckj6t , please take a look at this thread.  It sounds like you may be experiencing the same thing.  Can you please confirm whether or not you are.  I have brought this issue to the attention of Adobe but it may help them give attention to the issue and fix it, if it is a common problem that has just surfaced (perhaps as a result of a Windows update???).

The other users describe that the change to the text becomes visible if they click on the image canvas.

Hi Greg,

Please check my reply to Glenn. It's really hard when I can't see what I'm typing and the mistakes I'm making. On top of that, there's also the editing. Thanks.

@defaultpy6ewptckj6t,  your problem certainly seems similar to what others have recently reported.  Adobe has been made aware of the issue.
