Only draws when I double click

New Here ,
Nov 01, 2017 Nov 01, 2017

I use photoshop elements 14 it decided to only draw when I double click with my tablet (Wacom intuos 4).

No other program is doing this and, I have no idea what to do at this point.

If I try to draw without double clicking it just scrolls around the canvas (does nothing if I have no scroll bar)

I have reset basically all settings

Uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop

Uninstalled and reinstalled tablet drivers

Tried all USB ports

Changed nib multiple times

Tried new tablet wire

Any ideas?

EDIT : I went to factory reset in hopes it might help but tried reverting to an older version of windows. It fixed my issue.

Hi there,

I have same problem with Photoshop element 13 after windows 10 update. So you just change the windows back to 7 or 8 and the problem solve?

Al the best,

I have the same problem with wacom intuos on photoshop elements 13 on desktop Windows 10 Version 1709.

Note: the intuos tablet works fine on other painting software.

Solutions I tried, but did no work:

I got a new wacom tablet thinking my really old one was the problem, but it did not help.

I called wacom and they said a careful clean up of older files with an updated driver would fix it, I followed their detailed instructions, it didn't help.

I uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop elements 13, no help, updated to 13.1, no help.

I reinstalled win 10 version 1709, no help.

I have a similar PC running win 10 version 1703 with photoshop elements 13, it works fine.

So I thought it must be the upgrade to 1709 that broke the functionality.

But it's been so long since I updated, that I have to do a full OS update, which will wipe out all my data and programs! This was confirmed by Microsoft technician  --I had 3 sessions with MS technicians over several hours trying to resolve this without losing all my program installs.

Looks like I may have to bite the bullet and go back to 1703 -- with hours of work to get programs reinstalled.

I will try to let you know if it worked (when I can build up the courage to do it).

David

I feel you.

I'm just waiting answer from local Adobe retailer does the latest photoshop elements  2018 work with newest Windows 10. This retailer is a huge company and they told me that they will get back to me after getting answer from Adobe..because if the latest version doesnt work with Windows 10, they have to tell it before sell it..so lets wait and see..

I hope that the 2018 version would work, so it would be the easiest way to fix this..of course it cost, but what you can do..

Happy New Year,

Sini

Hi,

We just had the same over the weekend. I could still roll back from 1709 and indeed this solved the problem.

Turned of auto update (which I hate with everything going on in cyberspace) but no choice for the time being.

Guess I'll have to rely on my Norton and hope Windows and/or Adobe will fix this soon!

Hello

Create text doc like notepad with name "PSUserConfig" and write text :

# Use WinTab

UseSystemStylus 0

Plase this doc in folder : C:\Users\your user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2017\Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 Settings

it works for me .

IT WORKED!! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH tornikejibuti

For anyone (me) who had trouble finding the Photoshop Settings folder,

Go to your File Explorer

    > Open "This PC"

    > Type in the Search Bar "Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 Settings"

    > Drop the text.doc into the "Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 Settings" folder

(This shows just how clueless I am when it comes to my own computer. Hopefully this helps other clueless people!)

BTW It doesn't seem to matter if you have the new 2018 version, it still works when you add it to the 2017 settings folder

Like others I am struggeling with the same problem. I am using the Wacom Intuos Pro s, PS 2018 and have Win10. It happed after I updated PS to the last version from about a week ago.

I have done what tornikejibuti and aid, however it only works for 1-5 lines I draw. Then it continous scrolling.

Already tried to place it in the 2018 folder, still doesn't work. I can still draw, but only when I'm pressing the right click button on the pen. Not politely saying: it draws like crap.

Made a new notepad and placed it among the other notepads I found in that folder. Wrote # Use WinTab and below UseSystemStylus 0 and named it PSUSerConfig.

Have I done something wrong or am I missing something?

Might anyone know when Adobe comes with a new update? I do not keep that track. Futhermore I am afraid to uninstall win10 and programs like that, somehow I always happen to break things. Rather do not try that.

Hi, I just started having this same problem with cs6. I tried dropping the same text file into the respective folder for it, but it didn't work. Does anyone know how to get it working on cs6?

Mine is also a bit weirder: it works fine when I boot up cs6, but as soon as I try tapping something outside of the canvas with my pen, like selecting a color, then it stops working correctly.
