Opened Photoshop Elements and my catalog is empty - Why?

I opened my Photoshop Elements 8 and my catalog is completely empty. I normally have over 23,000 photos in it . Why does it say my catalog is empty?

What OS are you using?  What changes have you made to your computer recently? Have you moved or renamed the files/folders outside of the Organizer?  Have you renamed the catalog?  Go to File>Manage Catalogs and see if you have more than one catalog listed.
