Organizer Auto Sync keeps turning back on

I downloaded and installed a trial of Photoshop Elements 2024 today. I imported a folder of pictures and told the software to not sync with the cloud. It did it anyway and put all of my photos in the cloud.

I permantly deleted all of the photos in my Creative Cloud. I also turned off the Auto Upload Catalog Media in the settings under the cloud icon. The settings reset to On each time I exited and reentered Settings. I tried turning off the Auto Upload under Edit tab/Preferences/Auto Sync. The settings automatically turned back On when I closed the window and reopened it.

Before loading Elements, I turned off the two share with Adobe options in my account. Adobe turned the "Content analysis for product improvement" function back on.

This behaviour is very disturbing. It's as if Adobe wants my pictures and information no matter what. I'm pissed and ready to drop Adobe all together.

Steve

I also have this problem Steve. Have spent literally hours talking to a bot and then an Agent (actually 4 Agents as they refer me to another apparenly more technical Agent) before having to disconnect due to other commitments. My 'Case' is still open for one more day. My question is how to disable 'Generate Auto Creations'. (as well as those you mention)

Disabling it in Prreferences doesnt work. It defaults back to 'Generate etc 'as soon as I close Preferences.

I agree with your comment "This behaviour is very disturbing. It's as if Adobe wants my pictures and information no matter what. I'm pissed and ready to drop Adobe all together."

(Which is cutting my nose off to spite my face as I really do like all other aspects of PSE 2024. I have been using it almost since about 2014).

Steve, as you can see, you are not alone.  I have reported this issue to Adobe, and will also report this thread, too.  (I understand your sentiments.)

Hi Greg

I just posted this on another thread in this forum, a little edited now tho. Have you had any luck with your dealings with Adobe?

After spending hours on this, both on this forum and dealing with an ADOBE Bot Chat, then several different 'Agents', for a while, I got no more Auto Creation suggestions on the Welcome screen of Elements 2024. Adobe couild suggest no remedy to get the default settings changed and stayed changed. I had deleted everything that had 'sneakily' ended up on the Cloud and deactivated Auto Sync succesfully. However today I find not only is Auto Sync back to 'On', the default, it wont let me turn it off. Not only that, but I also have a suggested Auto Creation, using one of my photos, on the Welcome Screen again. Seems Adobe are determoned to keep their access to MY photos wide open. I have Logged in toi my Account, checked Files- My Cloud etc and there are no files there. So where are the photos that Adobe are accessing to then edit and show me. I feel like every time I use Elements, Adobe are watching and stealing a photo. Waste of money but I think I'll eventually delete the programme and cancel my so called membership very soon. Ive just about had enough. Don't need the stress and anger anger at feeling so helpless.

They must be hacking my computer somehow to even get access to my files. Surely thats illegal!

At my age its difficult, but am learning another editing programme which seems quite good, more than I need but want to be reasonaably confident with it before I ditch b.....y Adobe.

Cheers Tony
