After the 2024.2 update, whenever I go to the People view and click a person, Organizer hangs.

When I click again "Adobe Elements 2024 Organizer not responding"

This worked before the update.

If you press the Shift key while launching the Organizer, the Catalog Manager will open.  Select your catalog and then try a repair and optimize.  If that doesn't work, create a new catalog and let us know if that will allow you to launch the catalog.

If none of that works, this may be a problem with the update.  Try contacting Adobe Support.  Yours is the first complaint of this nature that I have seen so far that may be connected to the update.

In the meantime, click on this link and it will have a post with a download link for the program before the update.  Follow the instructions there until a new update is posted for the program (and please report back if this solves your problem so that I can report it to Adobe).

Yes, catalog repair / optimize was the first thing I tried.

Sometimes I can do a few operations in the People view before it hangs.

If I kill "Auto Creations 2024" in Task Manager, Organizer comes back...  looks like it is a locking issue between the two apps.

I don't have time to do more Adobe QA work - I've been a user for over 15 years but getting tired of the constant qualiuty issues.

It is more likely auto-analysis taking place in the background.  This can affect all other operations until it is completed.  If you want to test this theory, turn off all media analysis in Edit>Preferences>Media-Analysis.  If this turns out to be the case, I suggest turning media-analysis back on and let your computer remain on overnight to allow the process to be completed.  Depending on the size of your catalog, it can take several days to complete.
