Hallo zusammen,

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

It would be very difficult to destroy the old catalog when making a backup. Please give us more details to explain what happened.
Have you changed the location of any of your media files? If not, search your June 2023 Windows backup for the Elements catalog folder and restore that folder to a custom location. The catalog folder will contain a file named catalog.pse16db. Restore the entire folder. Once you have restored the folder, double-click on the catalog.pse16db file. Your catalog should open in the Organizer and will contain all changes as of the date that you made the Windows backup.
Perhaps before you do that, search your entire computer for files named catalog.pse16db and double-click on each one that you find. Perhaps one of them will be the catalog that you think has been destroyed.

Dear Greg,
Thank you very much for the answer to my question. That sounds very competent and I now hope that you can help me.
While searching for the catalog files I came across the following files
File catalog.pse18db from November 29th. 2023 on an external hard drive. This file cannot be opened with a double click. See screenshot 01 in the attachment.
The catalog error occurred between November 28th, around 7:00 p.m. and November 29th, around 8:00 a.m. The catalog error occurred when I wanted to save the catalog on this external hard drive.
On this disk there is a file called catalog.tly (see screenshot 2) with extensive information.
As for the fuses, I have to admit that I have no idea about them. I have a system image from 6/23/23 and now I don't know how to look for the Adobe catalog folder or a file named catalog.pse16db or catalog.pse18db in that backup. (see screenshot 3)
I also found the AutoCreationsCrashMonitorConfig.xml file on the internal hard drive. (See screenshot 04 + 05)
Thanks so much
With friendly regards
Matthias

This file was created (and can only be opened) in Elements 2020. If you do not still have that version installed on your computer, it won't open.
However, you can try converting it in your Elements 2021 Organizer. Go to File>Manage Catalogs and click on the Convert button (shown in my screenshot below). You will then be given the opportunity to navigate to the folder Katalog 01 1 22. The catalog with that name will then appear in the Convert dialog. Select it and click the second Convert button.
Also, if this catalog does not appear in the list, check the box to Show Previously Converted Catalogs. Let us know if this works.
