organizer [PSE15: Unable to launch Organizer. Editor works OK.]

I just installed elements 15. When I turn it on if I hit editor it works but if I hit organizer it turns itself off or it keeps waiting and the message says the program is not responding. I tried it many times and it keeps doing the same, I tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling it but the same problem happens.

Can you please let us know the number of media items in your catalog?

If its too large, please try out following steps:

1. While launching Elements Organizer, keep Shift key pressed

2. Manage Catalogs dialog will pop up. Click on New and create a new catalog

3. When EO launches with this newly created catalog, go to Edit > Preferences

4. Under Files section, un-check the option to Automatically Generate thumbnails for video files

5. Under Media Analysis section, un-check the option to Run Face Recognition Automatically

6. Now try switching back to your older catalog from File > Manage Catalogs

I was wondering what you meant by "If its too large". Did you mean "number of media items in catalog" or "catalog". If you meant size of image, then ok, but it was not very clear.....

I'll leave Anwesha comment on the size in number of items.

I did miss that part of his answer and wrongly assumed the question was on image files limits...

I think that the relevant info about your catalog would be:

- the total number of items

- size in MB of the catalog and thumbnail cache (menu Help >> System Info)

- how many raw files

- how many videos

- Do you use face recognition, geotagging?
