Hello,
I have around 22 thousand images stores on a NAS and have set up the organizer to automatically import newly detected photos in my watched folders. The catalog file is in the same NAS as my pics.
The problem and reason for this post is that Organizer, sometimes (not always) wants to import photos already in my catalog. It goes through all the normal import process only to say at the end that it cannot import this photos because they are already in the catalog. This is obviously a good thing because it is preventing from adding duplicates. But the question is why Organizer keeps forgetting that it has already imported these photos.
Help is appreciated

Well, there has been a number of posts about using a NAS to store pics and catalogs for Elements.
- Adobe does not support Elements on a NAS.
- All reports about storing the catalog on a NAS are negative, especially on Macs.
- A few reports about trying to use the watched folders feature on a NAS are negative.
So, my conclusion is that you are the best expert in that matter and that you probably won't get a solution from other users.
The only suggestions I can offer are:
- move your catalog folder outside of the NAS. Its contents will stay valid. You can copy or move a catalog folder from the Explorer.
- Instead of using the watched folder feature which has problems even with conventional drives, do a global import from each of the previously watched folders. With conventional drives, the duplicates are skipped.
