Organizer won't open PSE14

Community Beginner ,

We had a power failure, and I was using the application at the time. Following which, Organizer would not open - no error message just fails to open. The Editor starts just fine. I've had a look at similar issues but haven't managed to find any quite like mine thus far.

I'm using an iMAC (Late 2015) macOS 10.13.3 (High Sierra)

Here's what I have tried so far: (in order) -

Stopped and Restarted machine gracefully - no improvement

Used time machine to bring back the Organizer app from a time prior to the power failure

Reinstalled PSE over the top - restarted - no improvement

Uninstalled both - restarted the machine then did a clean install - STILL won't open.

I'm not averse to upgrading to 2018 but I'm concerned that the new install won't work either.

As well as that, I like the integration of the Nik plugin in my current version and as far as can tell, that won't work in 2018.

Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks in advance

PS I've kept a copy of the Apple report log thing but its very long and I can't see any way to attach a file so here's the first part only

OK worked it myself in the end. Tried one more uninstall  and noticed a checkbox for remove preferences so ticked that and then next time I installed, managed to open and old catalogue which pointed me to broken catalogue being the problem - this was confirmed when I tried to open to - had to go through the whole uninstall/reinstall again to try and repair it - still no go.

So now I am creating a new catalogue. Hopefully, that will be the end of the problem.

So I have a working catalog but every time I leave the computer it quits unexpectedly so I'm worried about the longevity .....
