I created a category in the pattern stamp tool and had many (MANY) saved patterns. While using the tool, I inadvertently clicked on another category name and have lost all my saved patterns. Is there a way to get them back? I need help! Thanks --

What OS and version of Elements are you using?

How did you save the patterns?  Did you create them or import them from another source?

What happens if you choose Default from the dropdown menu?  Are your patterns there?

I'm on a PC (ugh). I created the patterns myself. They were under Default, but when I clicked on another dropdown listing, the default changed to that listing.

Pattern files have a PAT file extension.

Search your computer for all your patterns.  An example of a pattern file is:   java.pat
pattern files are typically pretty small in size.

I put my patterns here (this example is from pse 2022):
C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\20.0\Presets\Patterns

I tried this and my patterns are gone. They were replaced by the patterns that I accidentally clicked on. Oy!
