Photo disconnect

Community Beginner ,

Using Elements 2018 Organizer on a Mac running Ver. 10.13.6, photos randomly (seemingly so) become disconnected. The "original location" is listed as "Volumes/com.apple.TimeMachine.loc..." Obviously it shouldn't be in the TimeMachine Directory.  Sometimes, if I quit Organizer and reopen it the problem resolves itself, Other times not. This happens frequently making it unusable.

Same problem: Lots of photos seems to frequently and randomly disconnect. Original location is suddenly listed as "volumes/com.apple.TimeMachine.localsnapshot..." It makes Elements Organizer total unusable. Feature "reconnecting missing files" doesnt work / not suitable.

After som forum-research I also found this thread which seems to describe a similar problem but with some more info - but still no solution:

Elements Organizer 2018 Mac - photos keep linking to time machine snapshot
