Photos in Organizer

Hi I am new user to PSE 2018 most of my photos have been taken on an I phone & up until recently i was able to see them in Organizer without having to download them to my PC. I just clicked on my folders,  I cloud photos, then downloads & they would appear, now that no longer happens. So is there something that has changed unknown to me. I know recently Google photos & Google Drive no longer sync with each other, could that have an effect on the photos no longer being visible,

Hope someone maybe able to help with  this.

Maybe the files are already in the Apple Photos app or camera roll? Referencing the same originals in Organizer can be problematic.
