I have seen several reports about Photoshop crashing.
I have this problem, not on start up or opening photos specifically- it is random and frequent and highly inconvenient.
I have tried, as suggested, deleting "web companion" but it does not exist on my Windows 10 machine.
At times Photoshop 15 is virtually unusable and I find it difficult to remember why I upgraded from version 5 !
Any suggestions as to what i can do to fix this issue?
Thanks

Have you tried deleting the prefs?
Launch the Editor and try updating the saved prefs from the menu bar:
Edit >> Preferences >> General (tab)
Click the button to reset preferences on next launch. Then quit and re-launch Elements.

Yes, I had already done that..
To be fair, I am not totally convinced that it is an Adobe problem. I have had a lot of problems on this pc since Microsoft forced on me its major update of Windows 10 a few months ago. However Pagemaker 15 is the only program I run that I purchased since I foolishly converted from Windows 7 so I would have thought that this should be ok.

Hi,
Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Could you please share with us the EventViewer logs Photoshop Elements Editor Help | How to Find Crash Logs on Windows for when the application crashes .
Thanks,
Rupali

I followed the trail to Windows logs / Application but there was nothing shown. This may be because I haven’t used 15 for a while (gone back to 5) or perhaps a result of a disk clean. I will go back to using 15 and let you know what happens if it crashes again. Thanks, Don
