"ran well on my computers" is more than likely your problem. Did you log out of the program before you uninstalled from the old computers-- -all two of them? You can only install it on two computers.
You got a new laptop, but want to install 12 year old software on it? Makes no sense. If you just got a new mac os computer: throw the discs away- they are 100% useless.
Please remember your software hasn't been supported for years.
