Photoshop Elements 10 Organizer stops in the middle of importing

Hello.  I have Photoshop Elements 10 and when I open the organizer it says that new files have been downloaded  and now will import.

The problem is at about the 42 picture the program will not import anymore and shuts down.  I cannot do anything after that.  I cannot

even use the program to fix or print pictures.  What can I do to correct this.  I am using windows 7
