Have been using Elements 10 heavily recently with no problems. Suddenly, it would not open past screen with oldest photo and keyword index appearing.
Windows said problem occurred, searching for solution, then program closed. After failing initial troubleshooting, I followed recommendation to upgrade to latest version. Installation of Elements 15 was uneventful until catalog conversion reached 100%. Then Elements stated that it could not open catalog. I am told that the catalog must be fixed in Elements 10 before it can open in Elements 15. However, Elements 10 will not open. Message is overwritten and not fully readable but says something about Direct X cannot be initialized.. I think Direct X is part of Windows 10. How do I fix catalog in Elements 10???

Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience you faced.
Please delete the copy of the Adobe Download Assistant in your Applications folder. You will then be able to install the updated version. You can find more details in the known issues section to troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant - Adobe Download Assistant Discontinued
Please see if uninstalling Adobe Download Assistant works for you or not.

Elements 15 has installed correctly and is operative but catalog will not convert. I am told the catalog must be repaired in elements 10 first, However, Elements 10 encounters an immediate problem dealing with Direct X not initializing. Therefore cannot attempt to repair catalog.
