Photoshop Elements 14 Inoperable

New Here ,
Jan 31, 2018 Jan 31, 2018

Whenever I either open a file or create a new image file, Nothing happens.  I see no images and nothing appears to be loaded.  If I click around more, the program crashes.  I am operating in Windows 7.

Try deleting the saved prefs.

Launch the Editor and from the menu go to:

Edit >> Preferences >> General

Click the button to reset preferences on next launch

Quit Elements and re-start the application.

Let us know if that makes any difference.

Actually, there was a 14.1 update today that resolved the issue.  Weird timing.

Not kidding.  Weird, huh?  It's possible that the download from the Adobe website wasn't the latest version (I uninstalled, downloaded and reinstalled yesterday), which might prompt the install today but prior to my uninstall, I checked for updates and I had the latest version.
