Photoshop elements 15 freezes when trying to edit raw file

I can edit a jpg file and save with no trouble. When I try to open a raw file it brings up raw screen, if I do anything on that screen it freezes and I cannot close photoshop elements 15 without restarting the computer. I am running windows 10

Have you been able to edit raw files from the same camera in the past? Or do you have a new camera?

Have been able to in the past. Don't know what to say right now. It has
started to work again as it supposed to but all morning no matter how many
times I tried it would just freeze up when trying to open the raw file.🤔

If you just imported a number of files to the Organizer, the automatic media analysis can be a resource hog and interfere with operations in the Editor.
