Photoshop Elements 2018 crashes after updating Camera Raw

Just purchased Elements 2018 tonight. Installed it and it started up just fine. Then I updated the program, the only update was to camera raw, to version 10.1. After I did this update, Elements 2018 stops working every time when I start it up. I did the installation process twice. After it crashed the first time I removed the program completely, reinstalled it, and it worked. Then I again updated camera raw to 10.1 and, again, when I restarted the program it crashed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Which operating system are you running on?

Is it the organizer, editor or both that crash?

Does it always crash on load or when you open a JPG?

I think there is a problem with Camera Raw 10.1 and suspect that we may see version 10.2 coming along. If you don't actually need ACR 10.1, I suggest that you reinstall the basic system and wait for 10.2.

Brian

Thanks for your reply. I'm running the most recent version of Windows 10 Pro x64, it's on auto-update so it has all the most recent updates installed as well. It crashes on load, never even get to load any files. It only crashes when I start Photo Editor, not Organizer or Video Editor.
