Photoshop Elements 2018 initializing problem

New Here ,
Nov 27, 2019 Nov 27, 2019

I am running Mac OS High Sierra and I had Elements 2018 installed, but it was not acting correctly, so I thought I would uninstall and reinstall. Now I have uninstalled/trashed and downloaded 2018 from Adobe but it will not initialize. It tells me to download Adobe Support Advisor, I can't find it when I click on their button.  So other than buying the new version, can someone help me? I would rather not buy the new version because I am trying to save $.

Thank you, Kathleen

Dear User,

Can you please share a screenshot for the error message that you get?

Also could you please write down the steps in bullet points, so it would be easy to understand the exact step on which you are facing this issue.

Regards

Vipin

° Dumped existing Elements 2018 into trash and emptied trash from computer

° downloaded Elements 2018 for Mac

° deployed installer

° came up with message about initializing

° clicked button Get Adobe Support Advisor, it did not lead me to anything like that

° now I am stuck!

° just noticed this was for Amazon customers, I must have purchased this from Adobe as it is not in the Amazon purchase list, but can’t find a download from Adobe for 2018. Do you know where  I can download this from Adobe? Otherwise I will have to buy 2020 and upgrade my system.
Thank you Eleanor28

Hi Kathleen,

In Mac Os you can find the OOBE file to the below location:

mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps

mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB

You can rename these files, restart your machine and re-launch the installer.

Thanks,

Mohit
