Good day
When I try to import photos into Photoshop Elements 2019 for Macos, all HEIC photos taken in portrait mode (dual camera in iPhone XS Max) are not imported. Why does this happen and is there a solution to the problem?

What is your operating system? HEIC files are supported on Mac OS 10.13 & above e.g. High Sierra & Mojave.

High Sierra 10.13.6
HEIC is supported but photo taken in portrait mode does not imported.

Portrait mode produces two files an HEIC and a companion file with the same number. It could be that the settings are only recognized in the Apple Photos app.

Hope Adobe will fix it cause it is very inconvenient for me..

Yes I agree with you. Adobe seems to be behind the curve with high efficiency formats; notably on Windows where many iPhone users are. Lightroom has adopted some functionality for images with depth info so hopefully portrait mode photos will follow. I understand there are copyright and fee issues but sticking with jpeg; or jpegs created from HEIC risks being left behind for millions of ios device owners.

Is it happening with all portrait photos and others are working fine ?
Can you share your file with us.
Please also share the steps you are following to bring photo from camera/phone to your mac machine.

With ALL portrait photos, non-portrait is OK
as an example - here is a photo that is not imported:
FEX.NET - облачный сервис хранения и передачи файлов
steps... I just copy files from iPhone to iMac and then import to Adobe Elements Organizer 2019

Thanks for the image.
I am able to import it in Editor but not in Organizer. However it is working fine with other HEIC portrait images I tried with.
We are looking into the issue.

Hi
What do you think - how long will it take to correct a bug?

We are able to open iPhone XS max files portrait photos in PSE. File sent by you was actually a Jpeg image.
How did you transfer the photos from your phone to the computer?
Please check it again if you are facing the same issue & share some pictures with us.

Please test it again if you are seeing the issue. Please ensure that the file format is not changed during the file transfer.
Please attach another image with which it is still happening. @sergeyp32740862
