Just recently when cropping a scanned photograph using the Rectangular Marquee Tool it leaves me with a white frame which does not disappear if I use the tool again. It worked OK prior to that. I would be grateful for any ideas as how I can stop this. Have I pushed a button I shouldn't have? Many thanks

On the tool's option bar, set the feather value to zero. That should fix it.
