Photoshop Elements 2020 Catalog Back up Failure

I have PE 2020 on my Mac PC running Monterey 12.0.1.

 

I attempted to back up my catalog to an external Seagate 4TB drive

 

After approx 6-7 hours it repoarted that back up was complete.

 

However any attempt to restore the back up failed, on checking the back up location there wasn't a .tly file.

 

I had .bmp, .tif, .mov, .png, .json, jpg, .xmp, .psd files by the hundreds but no .tly file.

 

Any ideas for a solution?

Apparently the solution is to migrate away from Adobe products. I for one am sick of jumping through hoops, at a minimum, and having to buy a new program (after just 2 years) at a a maximum. Also, try actually interacting with a human from this once great company. Good luck. The've gone to hell.
