Community Beginner ,
May 04, 2020 May 04, 2020

Today whatever I try to do in Elements 2020 I get a warning that it could not be completed due to a program error.

I've tried re-booting my PC - but still the same - help please!

Try resetting the preferences file. Go to Edit>Preferences>General tab and click the Reset Preferences on next launch button.

Thanks Guys for all your suggestions.

I'm om a new Windows 10 PC and using PSE2020.

The main issue I'm having is saving images as Photoshop PDF's.

I've been doing this for my clients for a long time - but suddenly, yesterday, PSE throws up an un-named program error everytime I try to do that.
Any ideas please?

Did saving to pdf ever work on your new PC?  Have you tried resetting the preferences file?  If so, the only other suggestion I have is to uninstall/reinstall the program.

Hi Greg and thanks for your reply.

Yes - prior to yesterday I have been saving images to PDF for a very long time.

I looked at resetting the preferences file as you suggested yesterday - but it warned me that this could not be undone - so I backed off and left it alone.

Don't be put off by the warning message.  There's nothing that can't be easily restored in the Preferences dialog.  Essentially, the program is put into its "out of the box" condition.  No data is lost.

Hi Greg,

Thanks - but this morning when I tried a test to create a PDF from a random jpg on my PC it worked perfectly ... !

Isn't technology fun?

Many thanks for your advice (which I will remember in case the problem starts up again) and for taking the time to help me - it's greatly appreciated.
