Photoshop Elements 2021 on Windows 10: Loading JPG from a directory takes several minutes

Photoshop Elements 21 Loaded from DVD I purchased months ago onto a Dell Laptop with Windows 10 Home. The laptop has 8mg of RAM and a large HardDrive.  It seems that after the first JPG loads, subsequent pictures load OK?

Sorry that you feel the JPG images are taking a long time to load in Photoshop Elements 2021. 

Does the problem occurs while loading only JPG images or images from a specific location(like you mentioned)? Does it help if you copy that file(s) to a different location like your desktop and then open it?
