Just updated to Photoshop Elements 2024...  When I use the import form "Camera or Card Reader..." in the organizer it startes the "Elements Organizer - Photo Downloader".  I select the advance mode (botton left) so can see the picture previews.  For Canon CR3 files I get a generic preview (light blue flower - default if cannot preview).  I use this to select the pictures that get download to specific folders / naming.  I already installed the camera raw from the help twice.  If bring in files the organzier and editor can work with the files.  Any suggestions why the preview function not working in the camera import GUI?  (worked in 2023 version of elements)

This seems to be a random problem for the Adobe Photo Downloader.  It has actually been a problem for several versions, particularly with video thumnails which are not supported in the APD.  Sometimes, if you wait long enough, image thumbnails will be drawn.  I have no idea what the cause of it is, although I suspect it is a hardware/RAM issue.  All you can do is proceed with the import and cull the files from the Organizer.
