Photoshop Elements 2025 magnet lasso problem

New Here ,
Oct 28, 2024 Oct 28, 2024

When using Magnetic Lasso how do I stop it jumping across picture instead of following the course I am trying to lasso? It appears to guess what I am trying to do and lasso's portion I do not want to be included. I then have to delete portion and try again to lasso what I want. It then ofter jumps again without me moving the mouse. I use an iMac 2024 M3 with Sequoia 15.0.1 OS.

Try a different mouse or mouse pad.

Thanks Greg. S. and Peru Bob. I have had suppositions about the Apple mouse. It appears too sensitive. Even when I am not touching the mouse, the images in Photoshop Elements jump sideways.

Does the problem exist on more than one image?  If so, it is probably a mouse issue as suggested by @Peru Bob.

If it is only one image, it may have something to do with the contrast of the edges you are trying to lasso.

(I have never been a fan of the Mangnetic Lasso.  Elements 2025 has many other selection features that IMO are superior to that tool.)
