Did you open your raw image as a 16 bit file?  For some reason, that seems to be the default which is ridiculous because Elements cannot perform many operations in 16 bit mode. If so, you need to convert it to 8 bit in the Image>Mode menu.

after adjusting a photo in camera raw and returning it to pse 2025, pse 2025 is non-responsive.  The program is frozen.  Clicking on anything, menues, tools etc. produces no response.

Update:  just updated camera raw and now menues and tools are working but cannot Duplicate Layer in Layers.

Thanks Greg.  After doing a little digging that's the same conclusion that I reached.  Ironically, PSE 2023 and earlier versions to not have this issue.  They transfer from camera raw back to the editor with no problems.  Sorry to take up your time, but maybe this thread will answer someone else's problem.

@jim_1945 Can you tell me if the ACR Editor opened your raw files by default to 16 bit on your computer?  If so, I think Adobe needs to change that setting in a future release.
