After spending over half an hour in the Adobe Chat I was told to post here and that my issue would be resolved here:
Me: Are you saying that you are 100% confident that if I post in the forum I will be able to get this issue resolved?
Marem: Yes
So I was forced to move my copy of Windows Photoshop Elements 7 from one computer to another and now I am not able to activate it because the serial number is not recognized. I downloaded the software for the new computer from this link http://trials.adobe.com/dlm/Applications/PSE/PSE7TB/PSE7_WIN_TB_WWE.exehttp://trials.adobe.com/dlm/Applications/PSE/PSE7TB/PSE7_WIN_TB_WWE.exe
I look forward to getting a solution for this problem.

Hi,
PSE 7 came in two distinct forms - CD or download
Although they were the same program, the CD serial number will not activate a downloaded copy and a serial number for a download will not activate a CD install.
If you originally had the CD version you must use that version to install with. If your system doesn't have a CD reader, then try to get a friend to copy the contents of the CD to a memory stick and install from that.
Hope that helps

Hi the version that I have was through Total Training and on a CD. I purchased this about 2009 and it had been working just fine until recently when windows 10 did an up date. I ended up uninstalling the program and reinstalling it but for the life of me I can't remember how the serial number was provided to me. If the school gave it separately or if it was included on the CD setup. There is nothing with the CD that has a serial number on it.
I don't want to purchase a new one because I am retired (low income) and just use it for personal use and it has worked just fine until this update.
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond.

Hi,
I too am fully retired - welcome to the club.
If, when you first installed it, you registered it with Adobe you should be able to retrieve the serial number from your Adobe account.
Go to adobe.com and log into yor Adobe account
Go to Manage Account, click on Plans & Products
Click on view your products
That should produce a list of your registered products and their serial numbers
If you didn't register it, then I'm afraid that there probably nothing anybody can do. If you still had the original installation, there might have been a way of finding the serial number but you said that you uninstalled it.
