Photoshop Elements 9 update issue

I tried to update Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 because it won’t recognise the RAW files (.NEF) from my Nikon D7200 camera.

Tried several times but keep getting…

Some updates failed to install

Elements 9 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.5. There's no way to update it to Camera Raw 9.x.

To edit Raw D7200 files, you've got two options:

1. Upgrade to Elements 2020 and edit the Raw files, or
2. Keep Elements 9 and use the free Adobe DNG converter. Convert all D7200 NEF files to DNG format. Then edit the converted DNGs (not the Raw NEF files) in Elements 9. An extra step for you but no extra cost.

If you wish to install those two updates download and install the latest adobe application manager and then try Help>Updates. Even though that still won't open your D7200 nefs as John Waller has pointed out, it's still good to have the most updated camera raw that pse 9 can use.
