Photoshop elements what difference standard and upgrade

Looking to buy Photoshop elements 2020 on Amazon

I get two choices - standard or upgrade 

 Is the upgrade in addition to the standard 

Or is the upgrade an upgraded version of the standard??

It is not helped when they give the same description for both products but not saying if there is any difference like you need to buy the standard before you can have the upgraded version. Very confusing.

It's only an upgrade price.

You get a better price because you already own a license for an older version.

It's a kind of fidelity rebate, the downloaded versions are exactly the same whether it's standard, upgrade or trial. If it's a trial version the license is only valid for 30 days.

Note that you may find lower prices for the standard version from Amazon or similar during certain promotion periods than the upgrade price direct from Adobe download.

Also, if you have an older version to justify an upgrade price, it may be worth waiting for the next PSE version which is expected to be available end of September or beginning of October.

They are both identical products. The upgrade is a price discount for those who own any previous version of PSE.
