I have an older version of Photoshop. Recently I purchased a new Canon EOS 7D Mark 11 but when I take photos in RAW the Photoshop I have does not recognise he RAW format used by the camera. I have updated all the outstanding updates using the normal update processes and the program states that the software is up to date.
I have restarted the computer but the program still does not recognise the RAW photos I have taken. I have gone through all the areas regarding RAW but have not been able to find what I am obviously missing and seek assistance in pointing me in the right direction. I would prefer not to have to buy new version of Photoshop or other photo program.
Details of my software is as follows, happy to provide other details if necessary:
- Adobe Photoshop Elements Version: 11.0 (11.0 (20120830.r.32025)) x32
- Operating System: Windows 8 64-bit / Version: 6.2Camera Raw Version
Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

FAQ: Will Photoshop Elements work with my camera, or Why won't my raw files open?
That means your camera requires the ACR plugin version 8.7 which is only compatible with PSE14 or 15.
Your solution is to download the free Adobe DNGconverter (link in the faq). That independent software (not a plugin) can batch convert a whole folder of your CR2 files into the DNG raw format that your PSE11 can read and edit.
