I just upgraded Elements from 2019 to 2022. There seemed to be no catalog conversion required after the install. However, when I search for images by history, I find that a number of import batches I loaded into my Elements 2019 catalog during 2022 do not appear, nor do the imported photos.
I went back to Elelments 2019 and did a repair and optimize on the catalog to no effect.
I do not wish to reimport these images until I know what the problem is and am also concerned there may be other problems.
Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean whey you say, There seemed to be no catalog conversion required after the install?
There is always a catalog conversion when transferring a catalog from one version to another. Did you answer yes, to a question posed during install, asking whether you want to convert your earlier catalog? I forget the exact wording, and the question is usually easy to miss. If you did request the program to convert the catalog on install, perhaps you did not allow the process to complete. Depending on the size of your catalog, it can take quite a while.
So, how many files are in your 2019 catalog and how many in your new 2022 catalog? Just let us know the number that appears in the lower left status bar. (This may not be the exact number of files in your catalog as it does not count stacked or hidden files.)
Also, have you renamed your catalogs from the default My Catalog name? What is the catalog name that appears in the lower right status bar of each version of the Organizer?

I did not receive a message after the upgrade, which surprised me as all previous upgrades had required a conversion. Organizer 2022 seemed happy enough opening and updating the Organizer 2019 catalog though there were several problems.
This morning I forced a conversion of the 2019 catalog which, as I would expect, copied and converted the 2019 catalog to the new 2022 format. Some information I thought had been lost reappeared and some image imports I had done had disappeared and had to be imported again. I am hoping that, with a little cleanup, the problem has been resolved.
To answer your other questions, my catalog contains just under eleven thousand entries and is in a custom location on a drive dedicated to all my image and video files.
