Nope, big size doesn't create big files- when used for online stuff.  Set your canvas or image to either 72 or 96 ppi- does not really matter.  Also:  Zero reason to go above 1980 x 1080 is size, none what so ever. 

Make your image, choose "Save for web" - choose whatever options make you happy.
