polygon tool click does not work

polygon tool click does not work. i click for starting point. nothing happens. eratic, sometimes it does work. I'm using a second larger monitor than on my laptop

What OS and version of Elements are you using?

Try resetting the preferences file. Go to Edit>Preferences>General tab and click the Reset Preferences on next launch button.
