How do I stop these annoying pop-ups, bottom left of the workspace, trying to sell further photoshop enhancements?

Just click on it once and it should stop.

I click on it every time it appears as it freezes any work I'm doing. It still returns! Do Adobe really have to use the hard sell?

Site content is "resolved" via DNS lookups.  You can change your DNS provider to one that blocks ads.  This is not something to install and works for all your browsers.  There are free, freemium, and paid options.
