Printing Error with Photoshop Elements 15

New Here ,
May 17, 2018 May 17, 2018

Hello,

I am currently encountering a blocking issue when I try to print any given file from Photoshop Elements 15.

When I click on "Print", an error message appears, saying that "there was an error while starring the printer. Printing functions will be available only after a printer will be selected and the document will be re-opened".

I have already tried to update the drivers of my printer, as well as the Photoshop software itself.

Furthermore, I have also tried to rename the "Editor" folder in the Adobe folder (found in %APPDATA%) to "Editor_old", as I read on other forums that this could have been a solution.

Despite all the above, the problem has not been solved.

Can you please help me fix this? As you can imagine, it is absolutely necessary for me to be able to print from Photoshop.

These are some basic points concerning my set-up:

- OS: Windows 10 (1803)

- Printer: Epson PX730 (updated drivers)

- Adobe software: Photoshop Elements 15 (updated)

Thank you in advance for your help.

I have tried printing both via a wifi and USB connection, but it made no difference.

It might be worth mentioning that I started having this issue one I updated Windows 10 from version 1709 to version 1803.

Could this be due to an incompatibility between Photoshop and the latest Windows 10 release?

If this is the case, is there any way to fix this?

Thank you!

Most likely it is causally related to the recent Windows update.

Are you unable to print both via Editor & Organizer?

Are you printing on a network or is the printer plugged in directly to the computer?

Does the inability to print follow a recent WIN10 update? If so, please refer to this tech note:

Error: An integer between 50 and 8 is required | Elements | Windows 10

I followed the process from the first link and it worked!

For the record, the link mentions that the "OverridePhysicalMemoryMB" key needs to be created in the folder named "16", but it did not work for me: I had to create it in the folder called "15". This might help in case anyone else finds himself facing the same issue!

Thanks a lot for your help!
