Printing problems

New Here ,

Hi .. I need to print circular photos 58mm diameter ( Xmas photo's of the grandkids).

I created a blank file 58mm x 58mm and copied the circular section I needed onto this file, and printed at actual size. It worked fine except the image was exactly in the centre of the A4 sheet.

I have tried everything to re-position the images but am stuck, and unless I can find a way I'm going to need 5 sheets of A4 😞

If I print an ordinary image it goes to top left of sheet, it's just the files I created that centre in the middle.

One other thing I noticed is when I go File - Print - More Options, the "one photo per page" is always greyed out and I can't change it.

Can anybody help please ?

thanks

Create a new blank file.

Place each of the photos into the new file and arrange their position.

Then print.

I'm not exactly sure why you think it is easier to print several different images on one page, rather than create a collage on a new document that is sized to fit the actual paper.    However, here are a couple of points:

  • I believe you can only print 2 separate files on a single page of paper if you use the Organizer to print.  That way, you select the multiple images in the catalog and choose the Print command.  The images you want to print will appear in a film strip on the left of the printer dialog.  I believe you also have to use the Print Package choice for more options.  Otherwise, for example, if you are printing two 58 mm images on A4 paper, they will fill the paper.

  • If you want to use the Editor, for example to print one photo in each corner of the page, you would have to print each photo one at a time and position each photo in the correct position on the page.  To do this, you should see a blue outline around the photo on the preview of the printed page.  If you hover over the outline, the cursor will change to a four headed arrow.  You can then click and move the blue outline to the position on the page that you want it to print.  Also, although it is not shown in your screenshot, if you have the Center on Page box checked, the image will be placed in the center of the page (although it should still have the blue box outline around it and can be moved).

  • My screenshots are from Elements 2026 on a Windows machine.  However, I noticed when preparing them that the blue outline did not draw visibly when I first opened the print dialog.  This has been an issue in Elements 2025 IIRC, but was fixed in an update.  Please let us know if you see the outline when printing on your machine.

Hope this helps.

1 .. You can easily fit 5 images at 58mm x 58mm on an A4, so I thought it would be easier, and use less paper.  I just can't get the required size. Two 6x4,s automatically fit on 1 sheet so I assumed smaller prints would load the same way.

2 .. By changing the size you can fit numerous images on one sheet, in both Print Package and Individual Prints. But only Individual Prints gives you the option to select Actual Size. This then centres the image with no option to move it.

I don't see a "centre on page " box at this point.

3 ..  I printed from the Editor as you suggested and all worked fine, just a pain having to print 5 times 🙂  Thanks for this info as I wasn't aware you could move the image ( I have seen the hand but not the cursor ).

I saw the blue outline on 4 of the images. I re-loaded the fifth and it then appeared.

4 .. working my way through your advice and trying various options I have now managed to get 5 images on 1 sheet.

Print from the Organiser, Individual Prints, More Options, Custom Size of 59mm x 59mm  ( which prints at 58x58 ) .

It's not the way I assumed things would work, but did give me what I required. Thanks for your help as I have learnt a few things along the way.
