Printing with HP Envy 4500

New Here ,

I am printing from Adobe Photoshop 14 to HP Envy 4500. At times I am getting white on the left and right side of the image...then the image only prints about 1/3 of the way down and then 2/3 of the page is still white. It doesn't do it all the time but has been for 4 months now. Then I just wasted more paper by getting a one inch white space across the bottom. It printed roughly 95% of the picture then quit. This was now 7-8 times in a row. Does anyone know if it is the printer hardware or an Adobe issue? I never had a problem like this on my old printer. I've printed 100s of beautiful photo's then it will periodically do this. Help?

You need to investigate this further:

Do you have the latest driver for the printer?

Does your print set-up in the dialog correspond to the orientation of the picture, i.e. portrait and landscape orientation?

Is printing ok from other applications?

Can you borrow a printer and try it out on your equipment?

Hi Steven,

Assuming paper insertion in printer is correct and the same printer is working fine with other applications. If not, please try out following solutions:

1. Press CTRL-SHIFT-ALT immediately after you double-click the Editor/Organizer button.

2. Click yes to clear print preferences.

Try out the following solution if the issue is not resolved with above solution:

While taking the print of image:

1. Select the printer

2. Select the Print Size

3. Go to Printer Settings(Change Settings) -> Advanced settings -> Select the paper size.

4. Click Ok for "Printer Dialog". Wait for 2-3 seconds so that print screen gets refresh.

5. Click on OK for "Advanced settings" dialog. Again, Wait for 2-3 seconds so that print screen gets refresh.

6. Repeat the 3,4,5 step one more time and this will resolve your issue.

Your feedback is really appreciated.

Thanks,

Rahul

I did this yesterday and it worked great up until tonight. I now have another 1.5 inch blank area at the bottom of my pages after third try. I went through

the steps you suggested and same thing. HP was clueless on this. I have been losing way too much paper. This has been ongoing since I started using this

printer last summer. I have printed hundreds of beautiful pages then it does this randomly. I had done similiar steps myself, sometimes it would work and

sometimes not. I never had this happen on my older version of Photo Shop. Help?

This happen because of wrong version of drivers. If drivers get old they perform unusual printing  activities as you perfectly explained. Thus before going to any troubleshooting step try to update the drivers and run a print test. Now if you get any error then diagnose and troubleshoot the error using Hp ENVY 4500 Manual. Good Luck!

You can directly download printer driver for your printer from hp website or HP Envy 4500 Driver. Hope it can help you
